About the District
The Parker Valley Natural Resource Conservation District (NRCD) was organized in July 1957. The boundaries overlap two states, Arizona and California, and the Colorado River. The District includes three counties, La Paz, San Bernardino, and Riverside, which defines the Colorado River Indian Reservation.
The objective of the Parker Valley NRCD is to promote conservation and education of our natural resources. The major land use in the valley is irrigated cropland, with alfalfa and cotton the dominate crops. The top resource concern is water quality and quantity. Other resource concerns are wildlife habitat, recreation, and conservation education.
